If you’re in the mood for a vacation in the great outdoors, there are plenty of places to visit in the city of Spring Arbor, Michigan. This city is home to Boyne Mountain Resort and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. You can also enjoy the attractions of Falling Waters Park and the Bavarian Inn.

Boyne Mountain Resort

Boyne Mountain Resort is a popular destination for families, skiers, and snowboarders in the area. This resort has two mountains and 60 miles of trails to explore. The resort also offers a variety of other activities, including ziplining, mountain biking, horseback riding, and ice skating. Guests can also take advantage of its spa and fishing lake.

The resort has recently added new amenities and features to its existing facilities. One of these enhancements is the introduction of dual-frequency RFID technology for the 2021/22 season. This technology facilitates a smoother ticket purchase process and facilitates fast, secure access. Additionally, new pick-up boxes have been installed throughout the resort grounds. One new addition to the resort is the Edelweiss Lodge. Upon completion, it will have 35 European-themed rooms and a Nordic sauna experience. The hotel will open to guests in December 2021.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

If you’re visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, be sure to stop by Port Oneida. Here, the whole family can have a great time while learning about the natural history of the area. The exhibit also offers old-fashioned games to play. Although many people stay and eat in their hotels while visiting Sleeping Bears Dune, you can also enjoy dining at one of the area’s restaurants. The Homestead restaurant features a wood-fired grill outdoors and a display kitchen indoors.

If you have never been here before, be sure to plan a visit soon. This beautiful area is not only home to some of Michigan’s best-preserved dune landscapes, but it’s also home to verdant hardwood forests, soft sand beaches, and crystal-clear inland lakes. You’ll be amazed at how much this area has to offer.

You can get close to the dunes by driving the Philip A. Hart Scenic Drive, which features a one-way road, east of Empire. The scenic drive has a 20-mph speed limit and offers scenic views of Lake Michigan and the dunes. The road also features numerous dune vistas, covered bridges, and hiking trails.

In the 19th century, Sleeping Bear Dune was an important port for Great Lakes shipping. It was one of the few safe harbors on the route to Chicago, and farming was an important part of the local economy. In the 1960s, the area surrounding Sleeping Bear Dune was incorporated into the National Lakeshore. This included the immediate area, as well as significant shoreline to the north and northeast. In addition, the two Manitou Islands were also included.

A great place to watch sunsets on Lake Michigan is the Lake Michigan Overlook. You can also walk or hike up the Empire Bluff Trail to a high cliff overlooking the lake. This trail will give you a spectacular view of Lake Michigan as well as the Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Bavarian Inn

If you’re looking for a unique experience in the area, you can check out the Bavarian Inn. Located on Main Street, this place offers a fun atmosphere and 38 guest rooms. Rooms come with a variety of amenities including a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Some have balconies or hot tubs, and some have views of the river or the city.

The Bavarian Inn is located along the Cass River, close to the Riverplace Shops, Heritage Park, and Main Street. Guests can catch a shuttle service across the river or simply walk over the wooden bridge to reach the sites.

While you’re visiting Spring Arbor, you’ll definitely want to stay at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. The lodge is situated on the Cass River and has seven acres of fun for the whole family. The hotel has an indoor water park and two water slides, and two restaurants. There are also many activities indoors and outside, like miniature golf.

You can also visit Frankenmuth for a delicious dinner. The town’s heritage park is well maintained and offers a beautiful location for strolling. You can also take a German cooking class here. Both places are located just 1.5 hours from the Detroit Metro Airport.

If you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, you can opt to host a party at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Its banquet space can accommodate up to 500 guests. Its event coordinators pay attention to detail to ensure a memorable experience. Food and beverages served at the inn are of the highest quality. The hotel also offers unique shopping at River Place Shops. You can visit the lodge’s website to make reservations.

Falling Waters Park

Falling Waters Park is a park with a unique history. It’s located on the site of the original village of Spring Arbor and features an ancient potawatomi burial ground and a museum. It is open daily from dawn to dusk. The park’s interpretive signs give visitors a background on the area’s history.

The park is a popular spot for picnickers. There are two restaurants that serve local food in a rustic environment. Ixcanul, a Guatemalan restaurant, and Laughlin’s Slice of Spice, a wood-fired brick oven pizzeria, are both great choices. Cadet Tavern is another good option. They serve delicious food and offer campgrounds.

Falling Waters Park has a boardwalk that allows visitors to experience the waterfall. The trail starts at an elevated platform and descends to a rocky spot where one can feel the mist off of the water. The park is full of limestone holes, and the trail winds through most of them. Fern plants are found near the sinkholes, and they seem to enjoy the company of these ancient limestone formations.

The park is also home to the Cascades Cycling Club, which organizes rides almost daily. The club also runs the popular Pedal & Whine bike tour. You can also ride your bike along the Martin Luther King Equality Trail. It was formerly known as the Jackson Inter-City Trail. It connects to more than 2,000 miles of trails in Michigan.

Spring Arbor is a historic town located in the western part of Jackson County. The town was first settled by people who lived in the Lime Lake area. However, due to construction of the Air Line Railroad, the source of this water was cut off. Still, remnants of the Springbrook River can be seen in the marshy area that is dotted with lily pads.

Another place to visit in Spring Arbor is Falling Waters State Park. The 173-acre park was first opened in 1963. This park is known for its waterfall, which has a height of 73 feet. In addition to the waterfall, it also boasts a rainbow and a 100-foot sinkhole. The park also has a family picnic area and campgrounds.
